1. The Magic of Villa de Zecheo for Private Events & Gatherings
Villa de Zecheo is one of the most iconic villas in Rincón. It accommodates a whole family or friend group, it's where Bad Bunny stays when he is in town, it's set up for events and is also right on the beach. We've shot weddings there, family reunions, anniversary parties, Super Bowl parties, and more and they all have had the best time, in a convenient location in town.
The magic of Villa de Zecheo is that your closest family/friends get to stay with you and celebrate, while also having enough space for privacy. It has a big green lawn for a game of touch football, baseball, or to set up a tent and tables and chairs and a dance floor. It has ADA accommodations and is just literal steps from Maria's Beach - a known surfing beach.
From a logistics point of view, having a family portraits session while you're staying here is the easiest thing you can do because no one has to leave the property and the photographer comes to you! When we shoot a family photo session we always start at the Ceiba tree for a more garden and clean aesthetic and then we move to the beach for sunset and have some fun! The best part about it is that you're only steps away from where you're staying so you can clean up and head out to dinner after or BBQ and hang poolside.
2. Photo Opportunities: Villa Grounds vs. Maria’s Beach
The Estate: Utilize the villa’s lush tropical architecture, elevated ocean-view balconies, the pool, and shaded palm spaces for formal group portraits and intimate wedding shots. For weddings, it's a no brainer to utilize the front part and the balconies of Villa de Zecheo. We're able to easily keep the bride and the groom separate from each other while also taking the time to photograph you with your friends before the ceremony. The villa grounds offer an accessible opportunity to include family members who have mobility issues into the family portraits.
Maria’s Beach: Taking advantage of direct beach access, Maria’s Beach offers world-class sunset views, golden sand, and iconic surf breaks—perfect for candid, barefoot family walks and romantic couple portraits during golden hour. This is usually where we have the couple session for the bride and groom to give you a different look compared to the lush gardens in the front.
3. Family Portraits vs. Intimate Weddings
For Micro-Weddings & Vow Renewals: Just because you aren't having a major destination wedding of 300 people doesn't mean your love doesn't deserve to be captured. At Ghost Edits, regardless of the size of the wedding, we focus on capturing the complete narrative—pre-ceremony prep in the villa suites, an oceanfront ceremony overlooking Maria's Beach or with the grandeur of the Ceiba tree, and a candid sunset cocktail hour by the pool. An intimate wedding at Villa de Zecheo is worth the investment because it makes things easy. Everyone and everything is in one place. You can bring the details to you like a breakfast food truck, a personal chef, a DJ, a band, acoustic guitarist, and so much more.
For Multi-Generational Families: Villa de Zecheo Explain allows grandparents and young children to easily be together but also to take breaks while switching between subgroup photos (e.g., whole family, grandparents with grandkids, couples). You get to wake up and have your own private morning and when you want to, include yourself in the whole family shenanigans. It's the perfect place to have a family reunion and keep everyone together.
4. Insider Tips for the Best Session at Maria's Beach
Timing: Schedule 60–90 minutes before sunset to capture both glowing sunlight on the villa grounds and dramatic twilight colors over the ocean.
Wardrobe: We recommend breezy linens, neutrals, or soft blues that complement the ocean and green palm backdrops without clashing. We always recommend avoiding all black. We also recommend going barefoot.
